Noses of Yerevan: A Fragrance Community Thriving in Yerevan

On June 25, 2023, the fragrance enthusiasts of Yerevan experienced a landmark moment with the official launch of Noses of Yerevan, the city’s first organized fragrance community. Over the past two years, what started as small, private gatherings has blossomed into a dynamic and inclusive community, drawing people from various professions, ages, and backgrounds, all united by a shared love for the art of perfumery.

Noses of Yerevan hosts its meetings every Saturday, attracting about 20 participants each time. These gatherings are more than just social events; they are opportunities to delve into the fascinating world of fragrances. Attendees engage in blind tests, olfactory challenges, film screenings, and themed parties, all designed to enhance their understanding and appreciation of the fragrance industry.

Our community has also expanded its reach through a strong presence on social media, particularly on Telegram, where members actively engage and exchange ideas. This online interaction has paved the way for collaborations with prominent figures in the fragrance world, including perfumers, bloggers, and boutique owners. Thanks to these partnerships, Noses of Yerevan has hosted a series of notable events that have significantly raised our profile.

Significant Events:

• A meeting with perfumer Tsovak Voskanian;

• A masterclass by Maria Molchanova, perfumer of the brand MAYME?;

• A session with Anabella Arutyunyan, a perfumer-technologist from Pure Sence;

• Meetups with well-known bloggers such as Karina Tsakoeva, Elena Kosmetan, Valeria Blacksssun, Alexandra Odinaeva, and others;

• An encounter with Hayk Sargsyan, founder of Cosmoteca;

• A gathering with Evgeny Gor, founder of the Ucandles brand.

One of the community’s standout initiatives is the creation of the Sales of Noses of Yerevan platform on Telegram. This resale platform allows members to buy, sell, or trade perfumes, making it easier to access rare and exclusive fragrances while fostering a sense of community among participants.

Behind this thriving community are its co-founders, Alisa Fongart and Bogdan Zyryanov. Alisa, with over six years of experience in the fragrance industry, has been pivotal in bringing unique brands to Armenia. Bogdan, an olfactory expert with a master’s degree in fragrance management, has also made significant contributions, both in person and through his popular Telegram channel " @hearthesmell ". In 2023, they were joined by Svetlana Stolyarova, a chemist with a PhD and a passion for perfumes, who now coordinates the community’s meetings.
