Kiliquia at Esxence 2024

In the lush landscape of artistic perfumery, a brand emerges with a proposal as unique as its history: Kiliquia. Although newly born in the Canary Islands, this brand distills a deeply Italian essence, thanks to the collaboration of perfumer Angela Ciampagna and scientist producer Enrico Maraffino. Kiliquia is the fruit of an international team, with co-founder and artistic director, singer and journalist David Hovhannisyan, and journalist Yana Nersesyan in charge of management.

The identity of Kiliquia is rooted in the legend of Princess Zabel of Cilicia, an ancient Armenian kingdom, intertwining the historical and cultural richness of Armenia with Italian olfactory art and sophistication. This approach is reflected in its main collection of home rituals, which includes reed diffusers and scented candles. These products stand out not only for their evocative fragrances but also for their presentation, utilizing special ceramics from Castelli, in an exclusive collaboration marked as Castelli x Kiliquia.

Kiliquia's collection comprises three main fragrances: Rose of Zabel, Citrus of Aram, and Tobacco of Hetum, each with its own olfactory pyramid promising to transport users on a sensory journey from Cilicia to Venice, with notes inspired by the Canary Islands' flora.

Rose of Zabel is characterized by its main floral and musky accord, with top notes including bergamot, blackcurrant, davana, artemisia, petitgrain, saffron, pear, and mandarin. The heart notes reveal ylang-ylang, rose, magnolia, leather, cinnamon, peach, strawberry, jasmine, and orange blossom, while the base notes mix amber, patchouli, toffee, oudh, vetiver, orris, vanilla, tonka bean, and musk.

Citrus of Aram offers a main citrus and green accord, starting with bergamot, lemon, nutmeg, and lavender in the top notes. Mint, rhubarb, and jasmine form the heart notes, and vetiver, saffron, agarwood, and frankincense the base notes.

Tobacco of Hetum, on the other hand, presents a main woody and amber accord, with top notes of cinnamon, oud, saffron, incense, nutmeg, green apple, and pear. The heart notes include patchouli, thyme, jasmine, coconut, and Bay St Thomas, culminating in base notes of tobacco, vanilla, amber, guaiac wood, sandalwood, white musk, and vetiver.

Recently, Kiliquia made its debut at Esxence 2024 in Milan, one of the most important artistic (niche) perfumery fairs worldwide. This event marked a milestone for the brand, not only presenting it to a global audience but also establishing its presence in the sector.

Looking to the future, Kiliquia plans to expand its offering with the introduction of perfumes, silk scarves, and more, starting in September. This growth reflects the brand's ambition to offer a wider and more enriching olfactory experience, maintaining its commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and history.

The Kiliquia brand is an invitation to explore a world where history, culture, and art merge into fragrances. It is a tribute to historical roots, a bridge between cultures, and a celebration of perfumery craftsmanship, promising its users an unforgettable olfactory journey between Cilicia and Venice, with the soul of the Canary Islands.
